We met this handsome guy for his 3 month milestone session right before Christmas. It must be pretty exhausting being this cute, because Henry fell asleep halfway through his shoot!
We were all hoping for snowy photos for the DoMoe's winter maternity shoot, but since the forecast called for lots of rain, we moved part of their session into their nursery. We loved the way these turned out, and we were able to capture special details (like the handmade quilts) to make their session personal and unique. Hurry up baby Daxton, we can't wait to meet you!
We had a fun session with Grayson and his older sisters, but the best part was the cake smash! This was probably my favorite cake smash I've photographed yet, because Grayson didn't waste a second getting that bright blue frosting everywhere!
This little guy only gave us a few smiles that day, but he had some really adorable expressions and was pretty excited to see Mickey! Happy 1st Birthday Michael!
The Mickey Mouse onesie and hat is available at the studio in 12-18 months, and we'll be adding a newborn set soon too!
Last month we announced our plans to move out of our in-home studio and into a larger space in downtown Swanton, Ohio. The former Pilliod Opera House, built in 1897, will be home to our new storefront and photography studio. The Opera House hosted a variety of activities in the early 1900s, such as piano recitals, social balls, duck-pin bowling, and basketball games (there's still a full court upstairs!). This building has also housed several businesses throughout the years, including a bank, A&P grocery store, and hardware store.
Here's what it looks like today. The windows and doorways have been boarded up for decades. We found the original 8 foot windows, and plan to reinstall them in the future to finally let in the natural light that the building has craved for so long. We want to restore as much of the building's original character as we can, so we've got a lot of renovation ahead of us.
We ripped out layers of flooring to expose the original wood floors, and removed the drop ceiling in the front room that was hiding a grand 14 foot high tin ceiling.
Our next steps include updating some of the electrical, painting the ceilings, and sanding the floors. Hopefully the next update will be much prettier!
Here's some highlights from the Bryan family's winter session out at Salsberry Tree Farm. We loved seeing these kiddos again; it seems like they've grown so much since their mini session the previous fall! Check out those adorable boot cozies and hats on the girls, handmade by Sarah's Crochet Closet!
We did a custom holiday mini session for the Yorks a few weeks before Christmas at Salsberry Tree Farm. It made a really neat setting for their session. Mini sessions are great if you're looking for a just few images with a theme, or for making announcements (gender reveal, pregnancy announcements, etc). While we do set up a few scheduled mini session events throughout the year, you can always contact us to talk about your ideas for a custom mini session! Thanks again to the Yorks for a fun session!
